FBE Halloween Apple Run 2024

RUN FOR IT on Sunday, October 27, 2024!
Belmont High School Track, 291 Concord Ave, Belmont, MA 02478
9:30am - 5K • 10:45am - 2K

The Foundation for Belmont Education would like to thank everyone who came out on a beautiful October morning and helped make our annual FBE Halloween Apple Run such a success. Nearly 800 runners registered for our 5k or 2k runs this year, raising important funds to support teachers and students at Belmont Public Schools.

It was incredible to see the creativity in costumes, the determination on the race course, and the community spirit on display throughout the morning. Thank you, Belmont!

This race would not have been possible without the support of a tremendous number of volunteers and the FBE board of directors. More than 100 people took part in race planning, preparation, and run-day logistics. Thanks to their efforts, all aspects of the event went on without a hitch.

Community support of the Apple Run was evident throughout the day. The BHS Chamber Singers gave us an amazing rendition of the National Anthem, BHS performing arts students decorated Halloween banners for the track, BodyTrio’s owner, Donna Ognibene, got folks ready with a great warm-up session, Paul Roberts mc’d the day, and DJ Paul Madden kept the excitement going with music all morning. Runners fueled up on food donations from Iggys, Brueggers, Wicked Bagel, and STAR Market after their races. Thank you for the generous donations.

A very special thank you to all our incredible Race Sponsors: Cityside Subaru, Belmont Orthodontics, Belmont Youth Activities and DARE, and East Cambridge Savings Bank. Thank you also to our T-Shirt Sponsors: Belmont Books, Belmont Cooperative Nursery School, Fiorella’s, Lynn Findlay Homes, Martha Brown Realtor, Quebrada Baking Co., Shine on Salon, Society Beauty Bar, The Spirited Gourmet, and West Wind Forest Products. And, more thank yous to our generous in-kind donations from the Belmont Center Business Association, BodyTrio, and Moozy's Ice Cream Emporium.

Thanks also to the Belmont Police Department and Belmont Fire Department for helping to monitor the race course and keeping runners safe and to the Department of Public Works for setting up the course.

Finally, to the hundreds of runners, both young and old, the Foundation for Belmont Education offers a heartfelt thank you for coming out to support our public schools!

Sincerely,

Kelly Moriarty, Race Director, FBE Apple Run 2024 and the Foundation for Belmont Education
