Become a Volunteer!

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Foundation for Belmont Education. As a volunteer-run non-profit with one part-time administrator, the FBE’s success depends heavily on support from our many volunteers.

From fundraising to event planning and management, from administrative work to graphic and web design, whether looking to give three hours or to make a larger commitment, the FBE has a place for you.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Long-term commitments

  • Board of Directors – The FBE Board of Directors approves grant funding and the budget and sets policy for the FBE. In addition to attending five evening meetings a year, directors take an active role in supporting/chairing one or more of the FBE’s major fundraising events or provide background support such as graphics, communications, logistics, etc.

  • Program Committee – the Program Committee consists of 16 members, each of whom serves as a liaison to a school or to an academic department. The Program Committee members review grants and make recommendations about the grants to the Board of Directors. In addition to school/department outreach, they attend at least three evening meetings a year.

The Foundation for Belmont Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy or genetic information, age, marital status, veteran status, alienage or citizenship status, ancestry, national origin, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.

Community members, parents/guardians, and students - the FBE could not do all of its work and events — the Spelling Bee, the Apple Run, the OTA, the Daffodils, the Spring Parties — without volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering now or in the future please take 2 minutes to complete our short Volunteer Form (click Volunteer Form button at top or bottom of this page). This is not a commitment, just a way for us to know how much (or little) time you would like to give to support us in supporting the Belmont Public Schools. Thank you
